APAP Evaluation Tools

Dear Program Directors and Program Faculty,

All APAP-approved programs are required to comply with (Registration, Recognition), or pledge to meet (Accreditation) the IFNA Educational Standards. Standard VIII. Evaluation requires programs to regularly evaluate all aspects of the program, monitor student progress and success, and use evaluation results to guide program improvement.

Recent revisions to the APAP initial and renewal application processes require programs to provide evidence of their ongoing evaluation activities. Specifically, programs must describe their evaluation processes, present current evaluation data, and demonstrate how evaluation findings are used to implement positive changes within the program.

To support anesthesia programs in meeting these requirements, the IFNA Education Committee has developed a set of Evaluation Tools that programs may use or adapt to fit their needs. It is hoped that these resources will assist programs in establishing structured, ongoing evaluation processes that support educational quality and continuous improvement.

The following Tools can be accessed from this page:

  1. Daily Clinical Evaluation
  2. Preop Assessment/Anesthesia Care Plan
  3. End of Rotation Evaluation
  4. Student Evaluation of Courses and Program
  5. Record of Clinical Experience

We hope you find the Tools helpful,
